Scott Morrison fell out of favour under Jimmy Calderwood |
Dunfermline Athletic have completed the signing of defender Scott Morrison from Aberdeen on a two-year contract. The 21-year-old told the Dunfermline website: "I was at Aberdeen from when I was 10 years old so it is with a heavy heart that I am leaving.
"But it was clear that I was not going to be playing as much as I needed to be in the current set-up and I have to make a fresh start."
Morrison made 14 appearances for the Dons last season, mainly as a sub.
He had fallen out of favour with new manager Jimmy Calderwood, who had arrived from Dunfermline, at the start of the season.
"Dunfermline are an ambitious club and, although they struggled last season, I am confident we will do much better next year," said Morrison.
"I am just looking forward to playing for my new team and showing everyone at the club what I can do."
Dunfermline assistant manager Craig Robertson thought it was a great signing for the Fife club.
"He is young and hungry with something to prove," he added.
