Dundee United boss Peter Houston "disgusted" at Swanson
Houston was furious after his side surrendered a two-goal lead against Hibs
Dundee United manager Peter Houston expressed his outrage at Danny Swanson after the player was sent off in the 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road.
Substitute Swanson picked up two yellow cards within 16 minutes of coming on, the second for a needless hand ball.
"Swanson cost us the victory. I put him on and said I wanted controlled aggression," said Houston.
"I'm disgusted with him - I've told him that - but I won't say any more on it. I'll deal with it internally."
Paul Hanlon's late equaliser for Hibernian made Dundee United pay for Swanson's ordering off after United had taken the lead after only two minutes when David Goodwillie broke clear to score.
Goodwillie tapped in his second after 35 minutes, but Sol Bamba struck from close range just before the break and Paul Hanlon turned home an Edwin de Graaf cross.
Houston was furious with Swanson at full-time and blamed the player on his side's failure to claim all three points.
"The referee was right," said Houston. "It was a stupid tackle, then a ball that was going miles out of the park [for the hand ball].
"It was a yellow card offence, and if he doesn't know that by now, he'll never know it.
"But I'm proud of the rest of the players - the other players in the team - because they worked their socks off for this club and we tried to get three points.
"It took a goal that hit Hanlon on the way in, and we defended well enough.
"I can't ask for any more of them. The only disappointing thing is when you're 2-0 up and you lose a goal in the 88th minute, it's hugely disappointing."
