Sandaza scored 10 goals in his first season in Scotland
Dundee United striker Francisco Sandaza's groin operation has been put back a week after the Spaniard contracted food poisoning.
The ex-Valencia B player was scheduled for an operation in Bradford on Thursday but was unable to travel.
Sandaza, 24, has not featured this season after a summer hernia procedure and faces six weeks of rehabilitation.
Manager Craig Levein said: "He's been really down but after the operation he'll be able to look forward."
Last summer, Sandaza signed a three-year contract at Tannadice, arriving from Valencia's second string side, and scored 10 goals in his first season in Scotland.
Having him out for longer than we thought is a blow, but we were worried it might be three months

He missed the start of the season and was set to resume training in September following his hernia operation.
"Obviously, having him out for longer than we thought is a blow, but it's the lesser of two evils because we were worried it might be three months," he said.
Sandaza scored 10 goals in his first season in Scotland but has not played this season.
