Cadamarteri has not been a prolific scorer for Huddersfield
Dundee United manager Craig Levein has distanced himself from reports linking the club with Huddersfield striker Danny Cadamarteri.
Levein watched the 29-year-old former Everton, Leeds and Leicester forward against Carlisle on Monday.
Cadamarteri, a former England U21 international, is out of contract at the end of the season.
But Levein said: "Until I've got some business done, it's counterproductive to start talking about names."
Levein needs a new frontman after striker Jon Daly was ruled out for a year with a cruciate ligament injury.
The United boss added: "We will need three or four players at least for next season and I'm working away behind the scenes doing my best to get the best possible quality."
Levein signed Cadamarteri during his time in charge at Leicester, which came after the player had served a six-month ban from the game after failing a drugs test.
Cadamarteri, who has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, has scored just twice in 33 appearances for the League One side this season.
