Zaluska has been in great form for United this season
Dundee United manager Craig Levein is encouraging Lukasz Zaluska to remain at the club, despite interest from Celtic.
The Polish keeper is out of contract at the end of the season and can sign a pre-contract agreement from 1 January.
"I think the right thing for Lukasz to do at the moment is to stay here," Levein told BBC Sport, while stressing he had heard nothing from Celtic.
"He has made significant progress in the last three or four months and I think there is more to come."
Zaluska, 26, has been key to United's impressive start to the season which has seen them climb up to third place in the Scottish Premier League.
He won't improve by going to another club and sitting on the bench

"When your players are playing well and the team is sitting where we are in the league, I would expect people to be interested," continued Levein.
"Within a six month period we had to sell Barry Robson and Noel Hunt.
"Success attracts what I would call predators, with other people trying to take players to improve their teams."
Levein has made Zaluska a new contract offer and expects to get a response shortly.
"The situation is straightforward but such has been the rapid improvement in his form, he's only been in the team for eight months, it's kind of crept up on us," he added.
"He's only played 40 or 50 games in his career.
"He won't improve by going to another club and sitting on the bench. He's not a stupid boy and I think he recognises that.
"But I'm not interested in players who only want to play for Dundee United, I'm interested in players who want to play at the highest level.
"So I entice them to this club with the promise that, if they work hard and get to a level where there is interest, we will do everything we can to help them achieve their goals.
"At the same time we need to make sure Dundee United are looked after."
Celtic no.1 Artur Boruc, an international colleague of Zaluska's, is currently out with a knee injury.
Mark Brown is deputising for Boruc, who is expected to be sidelined for a month after surgery.
Boruc, who was outstanding for Poland at Euro 2008, is under contract with the Scottish champions until 2011.
Scott Fox, 21, provided back-up for Brown in the recent league matches with Motherwell and Kilmarnock, while Celtic also have USA Under-23 keeper Dominic Cervi on their books.
United signed Michael McGovern from Celtic in the summer but the 24-year-old from Northern Ireland has yet to feature for the first team at Tannadice.
McGovern, who has had loan spells at Stranraer and St Johnstone, never made a top team appearance during his four years at Celtic Park.
