Levein's side have been without John Daly through injury |
Dundee United manager Craig Levein said the 2-0 defeat by Rangers was further proof that a new striker will be his priority during the transfer window. "We did not deserve to get anything from the match," he admitted.
"But, in saying that, I don't think, as a player and a manager, I have enjoyed so much possession at Ibrox.
"We played a lot of pretty stuff, but we did not have enough punch and just lack a bit of firepower just now and that something I hope to address."
Levein lamented the loss of powerful striker John Daly, who has been injured for much of the season.
Meanwhile, United have announced that they have released defender William Easton "by mutual consent".
The 21-year-old had made just one start for the Scottish Premier League club, plus seven appearances as a substitute.
He had made eight appearances on loan for First Division strugglers Stirling Albion this season and was released on his return to Tannadice.
