Darren Dods was made Inverness club captain in 2005 |
Inverness captain Darren Dods has signed a pre-contract agreement with Dundee Utd and will move to Tannadice at the end of the season. Dods had been a target of former Utd boss Craig Brewster, who also managed him at Inverness, and Craig Levein has moved to bring him to Tayside.
The 31-year-old defender spent six years at Hibs before becoming a key player at St Johnstone.
Dods signed for Inverness in 2004, and was made captain in the 2005/06 season.
In further transfer moves at Tannadice, midfielder Grant Smith has been released by the club.
The 26-year-old, signed in September by Brewster, had failed to establish himself in the first team, starting only four games.
Smith had started his career with Wycombe and played for a succession of clubs in England and Scotland, signing for Utd after being released by Walsall.
