Daly scored 15 goals at Victora Park under Danny Wilson |
Dundee United have completed the signing of Hartlepool striker Jon Daly for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old joins the club on a two-and-a-half year contract.
"I heard there was interest from the club and from then I was very interested and it was too good an offer to say no," he said.
"I was enjoying my time at Hartlepool but when Dundee United came in, it was too good an opportunity to turn down so I'm delighted with it."
The Irishman Daly says that it was good to arrive to some familiar faces.

"I know Noel Hunt from my days with the Irish under 21 side and Lee Mair from our Stockport days," he told BBC Scotland.
"Knowing a few of the lads will help me settle at the club straight away.
"I also know Sean Dillon who is coming to Tannadice for a trial so there is a bit of an Irish colony building."
United manager Craig Levein was determined to get his man after first setting sights on Daly two years ago.
"I first saw him at Stockport and I felt it was important that we brought someone in who had a bit of presence," he said.
"He's one that we need as he is different from the kind of strikers we already have at the club."
