Tony Bullock has agreed a two-year deal at Tannadice |
Dundee United have finally completed the signing of goalkeeper Tony Bullock from Ross County. Tannadice manager Ian McCall has been on the trail of the Warrington-born 31-year-old for some time and a two-year deal was clinched on Friday.
The deal sees United youngsters Jamie McCunnie and David Winters head to Dingwall, where former Tannadice boss Alex Smith is in charge.
"Obviously I had the opportunity to watch Tony when I was in the First Division with Falkirk," said McCall.
"He is an excellent professional with superb potential.
"Again it was one of these deals that seemed to drag on for ages but I am pleased that everything has now been concluded."
The transfer includes clauses guaranteeing United a cut of any future transfers involving McCunnie or Winters.
McCall continued: "The decision to let David go was made difficult by the fact that apart from the 10 days he trained with us at the end of last season following completion of his loan spell in Dingwall, I really hadn't had the chance to see him.
"If he progresses and gets a move to a bigger club, Dundee United are well protected, and it is obviously the same with Jamie McCunnie."
20-year-old McCunnie was tipped for big things when the attacking full back broke into the first team two years ago, but, despite making 21 appearances last season, he did not feature in McCall's plans.
Winters scored twice in 10 appearances for County last season.
McCall hopes to lure midfielders Mark Kerr and Derek McInnes to Tannadice in the coming weeks and has also been linked with Falkirk striker Lee Miller.
