Aberdeen want to send Michael Paton out on loan

Dundee manager Jocky Scott hopes to bring Aberdeen striker Michael Paton to Dens Park on a loan deal.

Scott will talk to Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee, who has said he is willing to let the 20-year-old go out on loan to get first-team experience.

Meantime, Dundee central defender Craig McKeown has extended his loan spell with Stirling Albion by another month.

And striker Bryan Deasley will stay on loan with Forfar Athletic until the end of the season.

Scott has also extended 28-year-old goalkeeper Derek Soutar's contract until the end of the season.

Soutar, released by Ross County in the summer, had returned for a second spell with Dundee on a short-term contract in September as Scott looked for cover after an injury to Tony Bullock, who is still recovering from knee surgery.

Although Soutar has yet to make an appearance for the First Division leaders, Scott told his club website: "With Tony still injured, it's important that we have cover and he gives us that."
