![]() | Wednesday, 7 November, 2001, 09:59 GMT Bonetti and Forbes sign on ![]() Ivano Bonetti has agreed a new five-year contract Dundee have moved to retain their young talent on and off the field. Forward Barry Forbes has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal. And player-manager Ivano Bonetti and his assistant brother, Dario, have shaken hands on a new contract that would keep him at Dens Park for another five years. Local 20-year-old Forbes has broken into the first team this season. Director of football Paul Marr told the Evening Telegraph: "The youth set-up is a vital component of the club and we are committed to bringing the best young Scottish talent through the ranks and into the first team.
"While we are well known for our foreign contingent, we also have a number of very good local players being nurtured here at Dens Park." Of the deal to keep the Italian management team at Dens, Marr said: "Things have been agreed in principle and it's just a case of sitting down and talking about Ivano, his brother, Dario, and co-ordinator Dario Magri staying her at the club on a new, five-year deal." It would replace their current contract, which has 18 months to run.
