Former England Under-21 international Chris Allen has signed a two-year deal with Conference side Dover.

Allen, who played in the Premiership with Nottingham Forest, was initially on non-contract terms with the Whites.

But the 29-year-old midfielder impressed greatly in the three games he played and has now joined permanently.

Boss Gary Bellamy said: "It's a really good signing for us. Chris has destroyed the opposition in the games he has played.

"You would have thought if he was going to go into the Conference he would join one of the big boys so it goes to show we can still get them."
