Doncaster Rovers have signed striker Dean Shiels from Hibernian for an undisclosed fee.
The Northern Ireland forward was out of contract at the end of the season and had been linked with a move.
"He can play in a variety of positions, is technically very good and wants to play in the Championship," said Vikings boss Sean O'Driscoll.
Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen had offered Shiels, 24, a new deal but the player was keen to move to the Championship.
Signed by Tony Mowbray in 2004, Shiels has struggled to become a first-team regular under three different managers.
He arrived in Edinburgh from the youth ranks at Arsenal and, despite being in and out of the team, Shiels has netted 31 goals in his four-and-a-half seasons with Hibs.
Capped seven times for his country, Shiels was forced to take a lengthy rest from football in 2006 following surgery to remove his right eye, which had been blind since a childhood accident.
Doncaster are only a point off the relegation zone in the Championship and have scored just seven goals in 14 matches at home this season.
