The much-travelled Kuqi is two short of 100 career goals in English football

Striker Shefki Kuqi has returned to Swansea City at the end of his three-month loan spell at Derby County.

The 34-year-old Finnish international scored twice in 12 Championship appearances for the Rams.

Kuqi available to feature for Brendan Rodgers' side who are to set to play five matches in the space of 16 days over the Christmas and New Year period.

"They have been brilliant for us," Rams boss Nigel Clough said of Kuqi and fellow loanee Frank Fielding.

"They both made a positive contribution and we're really grateful for that."

Derby chief executive Tom Glick told BBC Radio Derby last week that they would "wait and see" if they are to extend Kuqi's loan in January.

"Kuqi has done a great job," said Glick. "He's played an important role.

"But we will take a 'wait and see' with him. It's one that we'll evaluate in January as to whether we'll extend."
