Tonge has struggled to win a regular place at Stoke

Derby County loan signing Michael Tonge says he hopes last weekend's derby win over Nottingham Forest will inspire them to improve their league form.

Despite Saturday's win, the Rams are just six points and three places off the Championship drop-zone.

But Tonge, who has joined until the end of the season, told BBC Radio Derby: "It was a great result - hopefully that can give everyone a confidence boost.

"You can tell the boys are buoyant coming off the back of the derby win."
