Derby County striker Emanuel Villa is poised to move back to Central America and join Mexican club Cruz Azul, BBC Sport understands.
The clubs have already agreed a deal and the Argentine forward, 27, is expected to sign a contract once he has passed a medical and agreed terms.
Villa joined from another Mexican club, UAG Tecos, for £2m in January 2008.
But he has failed to hold down a regular place at Pride Park and only started 25 league games in 18 months.
