Eddie Lewis made 27 appearances for Derby last season
Eddie Lewis has left Derby County by mutual consent and is returning to his homeland to play his football in America's Major League Soccer.
The American international has received offers from Club Deportivo Chivas USA and David Beckham's LA Galaxy.
"Eddie is a great professional and has been fantastic to work with," Rams boss Paul Jewell told the club's website.
The 34-year-old winger scored 10 goals in 80 appearances for Derby during his two years at Pride Park.
Lewis began his career with MLS side San Jose Clash before joining Fulham in 2000.
He went on to make 14 appearances for the London club before joining Preston North End.
After spending a successful three years at Deepdale, he joined Leeds United on a free transfer. He went on to join Derby in 2007 on a free after Leeds were relegated from the Championship.
Lewis has been capped 80 times by the USA and has scored 10 goals, the most recent one being against Barbados in June 2008.
