Derby County defender Danny Mills was impressed with the spirit his new team displayed in coming back from 2-0 down to draw against Sheffield Wednesday. Goals from Kenny Miller and Giles Barnes saw the Rams keep alive their FA Cup hopes and earn a third round replay at Hillsborough on Tuesday, 15 January.
And Mills told BBC Radio Derby: "The team has shown fantastic character.
"It was a poor start and two very poor goals but great credit to the lads. We could have capitulated at that point."
Mills, who has signed until the end of the season but hopes to earn a longer contract, admitted the early start was a disaster: "It could have been three or four but we dug in.
"We had the better of the game before that and created some good chances but couldn't convert them.
"We have to defend better and we have to cut out the defensive errors but you have to take the positives."
