Macken jumps for a header during a game for Barnsley |
Derby have recalled striker Jon Macken from a loan spell with Barnsley after scoring three times in the last two games for the Championship club. The Rams are short of strikers at present, with Robert Earnshaw (calf strain) the latest to be hit by injury.
Macken has only started four games for Derby since joining them on a free transfer from Crystal Palace.
But manager Paul Jewell has promised to give every member of the squad a chance as they try to escape relegation.
Macken's goals for Barnsley against Bristol City and Stoke were his first for the club since joining them on loan at the start of November.
And the 30-year-old will now hope he can continue that form at Premier League level.
Wales international defender Lewin Nyatanga is also out on loan at Barnsley but will not return to Pride Park until the New Year.
