Derby County manager Paul Jewell has casts his doubts over plans to open a National Football Centre in Burton. The FA's development director Sir Trevor Brooking wants to push through plans to open the centre but Jewell told BBC Radio Derby he is not swayed.
"The set-up here (Derby Academy) is fantastic, but like most Premier League clubs, I'm not so sure these centres produce hungry-enough players.
"I think young players have got too much too quickly."
He continued: "I'm not just talking about money either. I'm talking about the great training facilities and taking it as read that they don't have to do any boot-cleaning."

A decision on the future of the National Football Centre will be made by FA Chiefs on Thursday, with Brooking urging his bosses to give it the go-ahead.
"Burton is certainly up there with anything else we're going to do," Brooking said.
"If we don't get it right the England coach's job will get that much harder."
If the plans are approved, construction would start in the new year and would be expected to be completed by 2010.
