Jewell expects to bring in some new faces during January |
Boss Paul Jewell says Derby County will be looking to make short-term loan signings during the transfer window. The Rams are bottom of the Premier League with just one win in 16 games.
And the club are reluctant to sign players on long contracts and big wages as that could prove financially disastrous if they are relegated.
"It would be an ideal scenario if we could get a few loans in as then it gives both parties time to look at each other," Jewell told BBC Radio Derby.
"It's a difficult time January because the big boys very rarely spend because they have their squads in place.
"It's the teams down the bottom who are all scrambling around for players - more often than not looking for the same players.
"So it would do our cause no harm if we could up pick up points between now and January and make coming to Derby seem even more attractive."
