Derby midfielder Bob Malcolm looks set to miss several more weeks of action because of his ankle injury. The setback comes after a piece of floating bone was discovered by a specialist investigating his complaint.
Initial scans had failed to show the problem but the 25-year-old Scot may need an operation if the bone cannot be moved with treatment.
The former Rangers player joined the Pride Park club in September 2006 signing a two-year contract.
