Camp was replaced by goalkeeping coach Kevin Poole against Leicester

Camp was left out of Derby's team for last Saturday's draw with Leicester prompting his father to complain about a lack of goalkeeping coaching.

"Obviously I was very upset Lee had been dropped, but I was wrong to talk about it publicly," said Mick Camp.

"I'd like to apologise to the chairman, the manager and everybody at Derby for the remarks I made on the radio."

Mick Camp also voiced doubts about Derby boss Phil Brown and the quality of on-loan Middlesbrough centre-back Andrew Davies.

"I've embarrassed Lee and I know that he has apologised to Phil Brown and director of football Murdo Mackay on my behalf," continued Camp.

"I sincerely hope my actions will not jeopardise Lee's future at the club."

Camp relishing Under-21 challenge

Earlier in the week, Brown said he would wait until the goalkeeper returned from England Under-21 duty before deciding the player's future.

"There is a situation there, yes," admitted Brown. "But it will be dealt with in-house.

"The decision not to start Lee was made before any calls to radio stations."

"He wouldn't necessarily have made the bench either."
