 Whittingham has fallen out of favour at Aston Villa |
Derby boss Phil Brown has signed Aston Villa midfielder Peter Whittingham on a three-month loan deal. The 21-year-old becomes Brown's second signing in as many days after Bolton's Khalilou Fadiga also joined on loan.
Whittingham, who recently scored twice in a 4-0 win against Wales with England Under-21s, broke into the Villa first team in the 2003/2004 season.
But he has struggled to hold down a place and went on loan to Championship side Burnley last February.
Whittingham watched Derby's 1-1 draw against Coventry City on Wednesday night from the sidelines.
He scored twice for Villa in his time at the club.
