Derby have terminated Adam Murray's contract by mutual consent following the midfielder's well-publicised struggle to overcome an alcohol problem. Murray, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season, was transfer-listed by Rams boss George Burley before the start of the campaign, although the the 22-year-old's drinking had begun earlier.
Now Murray, who underwent a 28-day treatment programme at London's Priory clinic, has linked up with Notts County for training sessions.
His agent Gino Culbertson is also working to find the former England Youth and Under-20 midfielder a new club.
Rams secretary Keith Pearson said: "Everyone at Derby County wishes Adam every success in the future.
"We trust it won't be long before his career is back on track and he is once again playing at the kind of level we know he's capable of.
"We also wish to place on record our appreciation of the way Adam's agent has worked to bring a sensible settlement to the matter."
