Darlington have signed goalkeeper Danzelle St Louis-Hamilton on a non-contract basis following his release by Stoke City.
The 20-year-old did not figure for the Potters prior to his release, but had spells on loan at Vauxhall Motors, Worcester City and Bristol Rovers.
"We needed another goalkeeper in case something happens to Sam Russell," Cooper told BBC Tees.
"It's prudent to have another keeper on the bench in case something happens."
