Darlington boss Dave Penney praised goalscorer Martin Smith following their Johnstones Paint Trophy northern area quarter-final win over Mansfield. Smith fired in a stunning 30-yard volley to decide the game.
And Penney said: "It was fantastic - he scored a great goal againt Lewes in the first round of the FA Cup and it's just that little bit of quality he has got.
"Even when he came on, his passing gave us that little bit of extra quality and it was a great goal to win the game."
