Hodgson is in his third spell as Darlington manager |
Darlington have suspended manager David Hodgson while an internal inquiry is carried out at the League Two club. A Quakers statement said the inquiry will focus on "the background to open speculation concerning another club's contact with the manager".
Hodgson, who is in his third stint as Quakers boss, has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Bournemouth.
Darlington's reserve team coach Neil Maddison will take charge of team affairs while the inquiry takes place.
Hodgson's first stint as Quakers boss came in 1995 and he returned to take charge between 1996-2000.
He began his third spell in October 2003 when he succeeded Tommy Taylor.
