Romain Vincelot senses Dagenham & Redbridge momentum

Vincelot scored once for the Daggers last season

Dagenham & Redbridge utility man Romain Vincelot believes the Daggers can use their first League One victory as a springboard to further success.

The 24-year-old struck twice on Saturday to hand John Still's side a 2-0 victory over Leyton Orient.

Vincelot told BBC Essex: "This was the win that we've been waiting for for three or four games.

"We deserved it in the other games and now we have it. It's good for the confidence and we have to keep going."

After failing to find the net in their opening two league fixtures, Still's side have scored four times since.

And Vincelot is confident that the Daggers have sufficient firepower to challenge this term.

"There is a lot of quality in the team and that's why I think we will score a lot of goals," he said.

The Frenchman initially joined the Essex club as a defender, but his versatility has proved to be a valuable asset for Still.

He added: "I don't think I have the qualities to play centre forward.

"I like to go forward but I like to defend as well so midfield may be the good position to be."
