Daggers boss ready for promotion
John Still
Still knows he is within touching distance of a place in the Football League
Dagenham and Redbridge boss John Still feels his squad are ready to complete the task of winning the Conference and a place in the Football League.

A win for the Daggers at home to Aldershot on Saturday will be enough to take them up.

Still told BBC Essex: "We're prepared. That doesn't mean we're expecting to win easily on Saturday.

"It might not happen this weekend but this group of players are ready to finish the job."

The Daggers went on an unbeaten run of seven matches during March to cement their place at the top.

Still added: "I don't think using the words 'grinding out results' is insulting to us.

"There are some games I look at where we've played well, there are some where we haven't played so well and then there are the ones where we've had to really battle and fight for everything and I take pride in all of those."

Still has taken a club up from the Conference before when he won promotion with Maidstone but has admitted this will be special.

Still said: "This is my club, I played here, I managed here, I watched games here and my father was a massive fan. This has really caught the imagination of people.

"I've had fans come up to me and remember watching matches in the 1960's and 1970's and it's fantastic to do it for them.

"If we do it on Saturday I will have a little thought for my Dad who isn't here anymore. I believe if there's one thing he could've asked me to do it would've been this so I will be doing it for him," concluded Still.
