Warnock insists spirit at Palace is high despite the club's financial woes

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock is confident that players and staff will soon be paid after wages were delayed for the second month in a row.

Financial problems resulted in the late payment of November's salary run at the cash-strapped Championship club, and the situation shows no signs of easing.

"Me and the players haven't been paid but we will get paid," said Warnock.

"The lads have been brilliant in the circumstances. It is difficult for them, when they're not getting paid."

Palace won 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday to secure their progress into the FA Cup fourth round, a result that Warnock insists is indicative of continuing good morale.

And the Palace boss remains equally supportive of chairman Simon Jordan in the face of the club's financial difficulties.

"It's not easy for the chairman because he's put a lot of money in over the years," added Warnock, whose side are ninth in the Championship, three points off the play-offs.

"But the players' spirit is very good and we've just got to get on with it because there are a lot of worse things happening than just not getting paid for a few days."

Jordan, who saved Palace from administration in 2000, last year announced his intention to sell the Championship club.

The club has twice since been subject to a transfer embargo, with the Palace players first informed that Jordan had "cashflow" problems at the end of November.

But a second wage delay in as many months is unlikely to quell rumours that players will have to be sold in this month's transfer window, with teenage striker Victor Moses a rumoured target for several Premier League clubs.
