Crewe midfielder Lee Bell believes his side are capable of finishing in the League Two play-off spots.

The Railwaymen moved within four points of the top seven after Tuesday's 1-0 win over Southend.

Bell, 27, gave BBC Radio Stoke his thoughts on the promotion race: "We've got a good chance now. I think we'll sneak in by two points.

"I joined Crewe because I want promotion, I turned teams down that are in the top six to come here."

Crewe have won seven out of nine home games in 2011 but have been let down by away form which has seen them lose seven of their last eight.

Bell acknowledged this statistic must change if the club are to achieve their goal: "We go to Oxford on Saturday and we need to get three points and put in a good performance, then we can kick on."
