Crewe youngsters set for Stoke

Steve Holland
Holland became the academy manager at Stoke City in March

Two players from Crewe's academy look set to turn down professional contracts with the Alex and join Stoke City.

Ben Marshall and Matty Lund have both been offered deals by Crewe, who were relegated to League Two last season.

It is understood the duo contacted former Alex boss Steve Holland, who is now the academy manager at Stoke.

Crewe youth team coach James Collins said: "If a Premier League side wants two of our 18-year-olds, it shows we are still producing excellent players."

Collins added: "We've heard nothing from the lads though, so I have no idea if it's true."

Crewe would be due a tribunal fee for the pair if they were to move.
