Crewe Alexandra have offered professional contracts to six of their academy players.

Luke Danville, Chris Clements, Ashley Westwood, Josh Thompson, A.J Smith and Luke Murphy are all set to join the senior squad in the closed season.

First team coach Steve Holland told BBC Radio Stoke: "As has always been the way here they will have the opportunity to stake a claim.

"They will be needed on the bench and on the pitch."
