Crewe Alexandra want to extend Dean Morgan's loan from Luton Town and agree a loan deal with Burnley to bring Steve Jones back to Gresty Road.

Crewe coach Steve Holland told BBC Radio Stoke: "I've been pleased with Dean since he joined us, while I'll be talking to Burnley about Steve."

Morgan's current loan spell has now expired as he cannot play in Crewe's next match at Luton on Saturday.

Jones, fit after a knee injury, has indicated that he would like to return.

Crewe had a good Easter, beating Hartlepool on Saturday before being denied another victory only by a late Walsall equaliser on Monday. And, on top of the 3-0 win at Gillingham the Saturday before, seven points out of a possible nine have helped the Alex climb five points clear of danger.
