Crewe Alexandra's 17-year-old academy striker Josh Thompson is being made to wait for his first senior call-up. He would have been on the bench against Carlisle on Saturday but the game was called off because of a frozen pitch.
Assistant manager Neil Baker told BBC Radio Stoke: "Josh is doing well. He has looked fine in the two reserve games and he is the next in line."
Thompson should be in the 16 at Leeds this Saturday as fellow teenager Byron Moore is out with a calf injury.
