Crewe have beaten off competition from Motherwell to sign Tottenham striker Lee Barnard on a five-month loan deal. Gradi had planned to bring in the 23-year-old earlier but his arrival was delayed by an injury he sustained during training.
Barnard has gained first-team experience whilst on loan at Exeter City, Stevenage Borough, Leyton Orient and Northampton Town.
However, Barnard is yet to start a league match for Tottenham.
