Crewe boss Dario Gradi sees Bopp as an 'intelligent' player |
German midfielder Eugen Bopp has completed his move to Crewe after passing a medical at Gresty Road. The 23-year-old agreed to join from Rotherham on 30 May but has been back in Germany training with his mother, a physio, and regaining his fitness.
Bopp has been suffering from an ankle injury but Crewe boss Dario Gradi told his club's website: "He thinks he will be ready for the start of the season.
"He is well down the road and the extra training he is doing will help."
Bopp has signed a three-year deal at Gresty Road and Gradi said: "He's what I call a proper footballer.
"He was once a high-flier at Bayern Munich, his career has floundered a bit but he had a good year at Rotherham."
Bopp made 29 league appearances for the Millers last season after joining from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2006.
