Former Chester midfielder Ryan Lowe is on trial at Crewe this week, reports BBC Radio Stoke. Alex boss Dario Gradi is taking a look at the 27-year-old, who scored 13 goals in 30 starts in League Two for Chester this season.
Lowe is available after being released from his contract at the Deva Stadium, apparently following a fall-out with Chester manager Mark Wright.
He joined the Blues in March 2005 after five years with Shrewsbury Town.
