Crewe have signed 19-year-old striker Tom Pope from non-league side Biddulph Victoria for a nominal fee after he impressed during a trial spell. Manager Dario Gradi told the club's website: "We have brought him here because of his potential.
"We will have him here for a month and then look to loan him out."
Pope has scored 12 goals for his Midland Alliance League club this season to follow up the 15 goals he managed last term.
