Crawley Town clear outstanding tax bill

Crawley Town

Crawley Town have announced they have cleared their outstanding tax bill.

The Blue Square Premier side were the subject of a winding up order in the High Court from HM Revenue and Customs.

The club's co-owner Sue Carter said: "It was paid a fortnight ago but sometimes you cannot stop these things running their course.

"We had a cash flow shortage in January caused by a lack of games because of postponements but all outstanding bills have been paid."

Manager Steve Evans told BBC Surrey: "There's everyone involved at this football club playing a part to get the club in such a good position come the end of the season.

"This week again they told me we are on target to do that so that's great."

Crawley are currently 10 points off the play-offs in the Blue Square Premier and are on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league.
