Crawley Town's fans have voted in favour of forming a supporters' trust. Nearly 150 people turned up at the town's Civic Hall on Tuesday, with the majority backing the new group.
Trust spokesman Ant Weller was not concerned that no board members from the club attended the meeting - and insists the trust will be effective.
"We went out of the way to make our case. We asked everyone to come with an open mind and listen to the arguments," he told BBC Southern Counties Radio.
"If the owners had done that, maybe they would have responded positively.
"But we had plenty of comments last night about our professionalism. When you couple that with a passion for something, I think you've got a winning combination."
