Injury blow for Coventry captain

Scott Dann

Coventry City skipper Scott Dann is set to be sidelined for around six weeks with a shoulder problem.

The injury - suffered in the defeat at Reading - is worse than first thought, with Dann having dislocated his shoulder, causing severe muscle damage.

The 21-year-old former Walsall player is due to travel to Manchester for further assessment.

The Sky Blues will also be without the suspended Dan Fox for Saturday's match at home to Nottingham Forest.

You always miss your quality players in any area of the pitch

Assistant manager Steve Kean
Assistant manager Steve Kean says that losing Dann is a blow, but that his absence will provide opportunities for others.

"Scott's devastated and he'll be a massive loss to the team," said Kean.

"You always miss your quality players in any area of the pitch and Scott's done really well.

"But Ben Turner's been really patient and I thought he did well the other night.

"We've got Hally [Marcus Hall] so those lads are obviously going to get their opportunity."

Coventry have received better news on right-back Stephen Wright, who is back in full training and could be in the squad this weekend.

Midfielder Aron Gunnarsson - who limped off at Reading - is also expected to be fit.
