Coventry City striker Leon Best admits he was not pleased to hear some fans booing at the end of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Preston at the Ricoh Arena.
Best, making his first start of the season, told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "If you do not lose, I do not think you deserve to get booed.
"We need the lift because they can be the 12th man when we are losing."
Chris Coleman's side, who picked up their first point since 16 August, go to Sheffield United on Tuesday night.
Coventry boss Coleman told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire he was pleased to take a point off second-placed Preston.
"It was always going to be tough playing against one of the better teams," he said. "It was a brave performance and I was happy".
