Freddy Eastwood had not scored since netting for Wales in October
Freddy Eastwood admitted that his luck was in after finally getting on the scoresheet for table-topping Coventry.
After two previous blanks, Eastwood's cross flew straight in to set up the Sky Blues' 2-1 win at Barnsley.
"I got a lucky goal," he said. "I went to cross and it went in, but I'll take anything. I had lots of shots against Aldershot in midweek and didn't score."
Chris Coleman's men have won all three games to lead the Championship, their best start to a season in 16 years.
And, although Eastwood's goal was freakish, Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman has been delighted with the Welsh international's overall contribution to their 100 per cent start.
"Some of his touches, his movement and vision are Premier League class", Coleman told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
Eastwood's strike was his first league goal in almost a year. And Coleman insists that, after a season spent chiefly on the bench with Wolves, and after the confidence boost of getting back on the scoresheet again, he will further improve with every game.
"He can get fitter the more matches that he plays and he will," said Coleman.
Eastwood believes that the whole team too can only get better as the season progresses.
"We do not seem to start well," he said. "But we seem to be winning.
"I think we can play better as the season progresses and hopefully when we play really well, we will be on fire".
