Coventry City striker Michael Mifsud was in devastating form for Malta as he found the net five times in the 7-1 win over Liechtenstein.
Mifsud, nicknamed the Mosquito, scored a hat-trick within the first 19 minutes and also converted two penalties.
City fans will be hoping Mifsud can steer the club away from the relegation zone. The striker has not scored for Coventry since December.
The Sky Blues host Plymouth on Saturday at the Ricoh Arena.
