Jay Tabb becomes Coventry's third signing in as many days |
Coventry City have signed Brentford's Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder Jay Tabb for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old, who has signed a three-year contract, becomes boss Micky Adams' third signing in as many days.
Adams told Coventry's website: "Jay has a level of maturity beyond his years and at 22 he undoubtedly has more time to grow as a player.
"He's shown his desire to progress through some impressive performances for Brentford."
Tabb had been at Griffin Park for his entire career after joining the club as a schoolboy.
He made his debut at the end of the 2000/01 season and became a regular in the side three seasons later - playing over 150 games for the club.
At the end of last season he earned his first call-up from Steve Staunton to the Republic of Ireland senior squad for the friendly against Chile.
