We must grind out results - Colchester's Aidy Boothroyd
Former Watford boss Boothroyd joined Colchester in September 2009
Colchester United boss Aidy Boothroyd says they must continue to grind out results if they are to challenge for a League One promotion place.
The U's beat Yeovil 1-0 in midweek and now face two games in four days with the visit of Oldham on Saturday and Brentford on Tuesday.
"We have to be mentally tough to grind out results no matter who we're playing," he told the club website.
"The results went for us on Tuesday, now we have to maintain that."
He added: "We have got two home games coming up and we want to play both and see if we can get maximum points to consolidate our position and to keep an eye on those above us.
"These are the hardest games. I don't have to do too much in bigger games, but getting results in these games is the difference between sides that finish mid-table and the ones at the top."
The U's are currently six points behind Leeds United, who lie second in League One.
