Arsenal have activated a clause in the 20-year-old's season-long loan deal enabling them to recall him in January.

Queens Park Rangers now want to sign Connolly, who is set to make his final appearance for Colchester against Charlton on New Year's Day.

"He is available to us at Charlton but he will go back to Arsenal as of 2 January," said Williams.
