| Colchester United will hold a board meeting to discuss the future of Wayne Brown, reports BBC Essex. The central defender is the latest player to hand in a transfer request at Layer Road. Brown was ever-present for the U's last season as they finished tenth in the Championship. Hull City are rumoured to be interested the 29-year-old. Meanwhile Colchester have announced the death of Dave Simmons who scored in the U's 1971 FA Cup win against Leeds.
